NOTICES :

 

1.  WELCOME TO GUESTS AND VISITORS.  You are invited to come to the altar rail at Communion time and to receive the Priest’s Blessing even if you have not been confirmed.  Just join in with everyone else.  We invite young children to join us there also and to receive God’s blessing.  Our crèche and Young Church are operating during the 10 am service AND we have toys and play-mats set out in the Church Room for babies and the very-young.  Help yourself!

2.  WE INVITE VISITORS AND GUESTS IN THE CONGREGATION TO THE CHURCH ROOM FOR REFRESHMENTS after the 10 am Sunday service.

3.  The Daily Office of the Church is said Monday-Friday in St Andrew’s Church.  All are welcome to come and join in this prayer every day.
Morning Prayer is at 8:30 am
Evening Prayer is at 5:00 pm (but not held on Fridays).

4.  “Little Fishes” – a pre-school group for children 0-4 years and parents / carers - every Thursday in school term from 9.30 am - 12:00. More information from Natacha Huggett (769023) or Rosemary Bean (764215).

5.  Fr Robert Tobin will be married on Saturday 24th September at Immanuel College, Cambridge. We send Robert and Olivia our very best wishes and look forward to seeing them soon.

6.  HARVEST FESTIVAL

PARISH EUCHARIST & LUNCH : SUNDAY 2nd OCTOBER

Tickets for the lunch in the parish hall are available from the churchwardens and need to be purchased by Sunday 25th September : £6 each (children free)

Harvest Flowers : Donations for Harvest flowers are welcome. There are baskets at the back of church and in the baptistery or pop them through the Vicarage door

Harvest Gifts : Produce (fresh & tinned etc) & toiletries (toothbrushes, shower gels etc) for Salvation Army, Food Bank & Night Shelter should be brought to the church room on Sunday 25th September or to the church on the morning of Saturday 1st October.

7.  Tea on Monday - The next meeting is on 3rd October.  We meet in the Church Room from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to this social gathering whose aim is to support the more isolated in our community.

8.  Wednesday Oct 5th 2016, 7.30 – 9 pm at the Jubilee Room, Quarry Village Hall
SMALL DROPS IN THE OCEAN: An evening arranged by some Mothers’ Union members from Headington Churches to explore ways in which we might try to do something, however small, about the great needs of the world. Led by Maureen Weston, MU Action and Outreach Co-ordinator for Oxford Diocese. All are welcome - the evening is for anyone who is interested.
There is parking at the Hall and also on Quarry Road. Entry to Jubilee Hall is via side door on Margaret Road. Anyone who would like transport please contact Edith Coulton (01865 763790).

9.  Save the Date – a concert by the Moonrakers, Saturday 29 October 2016 at 7.30pm.  Tickets £10 each.

10.  Confirmations 2016
The next confirmation service at St Andrew’s will be on Sunday 20th November at the 10am Sung Eucharist.
Please speak to the Vicar if you are interested in being confirmed.

11.  Community Foodbank – Donations can be placed in the boxes outside the church room. The Food Bank welcomes tinned vegetables but not peas, tomatoes or baked beans.
