NOTICES :

 

1.  WELCOME TO GUESTS AND VISITORS.  You are invited to come to the altar rail at Communion time and to receive the Priest’s Blessing even if you have not been confirmed.  Just join in with everyone else.  We invite young children to join us there also and to receive God’s blessing.  Our crèche and Young Church are operating during the 10 am service AND we have toys and play-mats set out in the Church Room for babies and the very-young.  Help yourself!

2.  WE INVITE VISITORS AND GUESTS IN THE CONGREGATION TO THE CHURCH ROOM FOR REFRESHMENTS after the 10 am Sunday service.

3.  The Daily Office of the Church is said Monday-Friday in St Andrew’s Church.  All are welcome to come and join in this prayer every day.

Morning Prayer is at 8:30 am
Evening Prayer is at 5:00 pm (but not held on Fridays)

4.  Lent Appeal 2015 – we are supporting Save the Children this year, and in particular their work with Ebola survivors in West Africa.  Information sheets and boxes are in church and there will be a collection bucket each week if you would prefer to contribute in that way

To study the universe as believers in God and in the scientific method is to make a voyage of discovery, not least about ourselves.
Come and join us on this voyage in Lent.  Each session will conclude with a service of Reflection & Benediction

6.  Sunday 8th March – We welcome Guy Willis as our preacher at the 10am Eucharist. Guy is an ordinand at St Stephen’s House and is the third of three preachers from the college this academic year.

7.  Monday 9th March at 7pm – Friends of St Andrew’s Church A.G.M. in the church room.

8.  Mothers Union - come along on Saturday 14th March to the church room from 10am – 12 noon to find out more. Coffee and cake provided.  More details in the Norman Arch magazine.

9.  Easter Lilies - If you would like to donate the cost of a lily in memory of a departed loved one please put the appropriate money (each lily costs £3) in an envelope, together with your name and the name(s) of those to be remembered, and either:
hand to Fr Darren, Diana French; put it in the basket at the back of church; or through the Vicarage letterbox.

10.  Stations of the Cross at Corpus Christi – Fridays in Lent at 7.30pm. All welcome.

11.  Tea On Monday – The next meeting is on 16th March.  We meet in the church room from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to this social gathering whose aim is to support the isolated in our community.

12.  Lifts to church – if you are able to offer a lift on a Sunday morning please speak to a churchwarden.

13.  Ideas for music at St. Andrew's :
The musical life at St Andrew's Church is embarking on an exciting new phase. We are looking for singers and musicians of all ages, who would like to be part of our new plans.
Under the leadership of Richard Bennett, the Director of Music at St. Andrew's, we are looking to set up 4 new groups :
A Youth Choir
A Church Choir
The St Andrew's Singers
The St Andrew's Players

14. Community Food Bank -  
Donations can be placed in the boxes outside the church room.  Volunteers are needed to take food to Hollow Way on a Tuesday.  Please speak to Fr Darren or a churchwarden.
