NOTICES :

 

1.  WELCOME TO GUESTS AND VISITORS.  You are invited to come to the altar rail at Communion time and to receive the Priest’s Blessing even if you have not been confirmed.  Just join in with everyone else.  We invite young children to join us there also and to receive God’s blessing.  Our crèche and Young Church are operating during the 10 am service AND we have toys and play-mats set out in the Church Room for babies and the very-young.  Help yourself!

2.  WE INVITE VISITORS AND GUESTS IN THE CONGREGATION TO THE CHURCH ROOM FOR REFRESHMENTS after the 10 am Sunday service.

3.  The Daily Office of the Church is said Monday-Friday in St Andrew’s Church.  All are welcome to come and join in this prayer every day.

Morning Prayer is at 8:30 am
Evening Prayer is at 5:00 pm (but not held on Fridays)

4.  A.P.C.M. – the annual meeting of the congregation will be held on Sunday 19th April at 11.45 am in the church room.

5.  Tea On Monday – The next meeting is on 27th April.  We meet in the church room from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. Everyone is welcome to this social gathering whose aim is to support the isolated in our community.

6.  Lifts to church – if you are able to offer a lift on a Sunday morning please speak to a churchwarden.

Art at St. Andrew’s 2015 :
in the Church & Church room, Saturday 9th May – Sunday 17th May, 12 – 6 pm every day
7 artists will be exhibiting the Church Room : Grace Exley (drawings and prints), Leslie Durham (watercolour paintings), Sue Bird (mosaics), Marieke O'Connor (ceramics), Ewa Exley (textiles and jewellery), Ruth Dodd (pottery) and Julie Ifill (textiles).
In the church there will be displays of paintings by Rosemary Earl and Alison Soskice, a display of church vestments and mosaic and felt-making workshops.

8.  Friday 15th May at 8 pm :
An organ recital by Leonard Sanderman (St Wilfrid's, Harrogate), starting with works by English composers (Elgar, Thalben-Ball, Walford Davies and Sumison), followed by arrangements of orchestral works and improvisation. The concert is in aid of the Friends of Della and Don. Refreshments available afterwards. 
Tickets £10, sold on the door.

9.  Ideas for music at St. Andrew's :
The musical life at St Andrew's Church is embarking on an exciting new phase. We are looking for singers and musicians of all ages, who would like to be part of our new plans.
Under the leadership of Richard Bennett, the Director of Music at St. Andrew's, we are looking to set up 4 new groups :
A Youth Choir
A Church Choir
The St Andrew's Singers
The St Andrew's Players

10. Community Food Bank -  
Donations can be placed in the boxes outside the church room.  Volunteers are needed to take food to Hollow Way on a Tuesday.  Please speak to Fr Darren or a churchwarden.
