NOTICES :

1.  WELCOME TO GUESTS AND VISITORS.  You are invited to come to the altar rail at Communion time and to receive the Priest’s Blessing even if you have not been confirmed.  Just join in with everyone else.  We invite young children to join us there also and to receive God’s blessing.  Our crèche and Young Church are operating during the 10 am service AND we have toys and play-mats set out in the Church Room for babies and the very-young.  Help yourself!

2.  WE INVITE VISITORS AND GUESTS IN THE CONGREGATION TO THE CHURCH ROOM FOR REFRESHMENTS after the 10 am Sunday service.

3.  The Daily Office of the Church is said Monday-Friday in St Andrew’s Church.  All are welcome to come and join in this prayer every day.

Morning Prayer is at 8:30 am
Evening Prayer is at 5:00 pm (but not held on Fridays)

4.  Sunday 24th August - the preacher at the 10am Sung Eucharist will be Canon Rodney Marshall, Vicar of St Helen’s, Athersley.

5.  Tea On Monday – Future meetings are on 25th August and 8th & 22nd September.  We meet in the church room from 3:00 - 4:30 pm. All are welcome.

6.  Save the Date – Saturday 6th September 7.30 pm – a classical guitar concert by Rosie Bennet in church. Tickets are £10 and will be available at the door. Rosie has attended the Yehudi Menuhin School and the programme will include :
a Bach suite,
Lauro's Triptico,
Sor's studies for guitar,
Richard Rodney Bennett's Impromptus
American Preludes by Carlevaro 

7.  Ride & Stride – Saturday 13th September.  A sponsored event to raise money for our church and the Oxfordshire Historic Churches Trust.  We need volunteers to welcome visitors to St Andrew’s.  Details and a sign-up sheet are on the tract table or speak to our local organiser Annette Ingleton.

8.  Ideas for music at St. Andrew's :
The musical life at St Andrew's Church is embarking on an exciting new phase. We are looking for singers and musicians of all ages, who would like to be part of our new plans.
Under the leadership of Richard Bennett, the Director of Music at St. Andrew's, we are looking to set up 4 new groups :
A Youth Choir
A Church Choir
The St Andrew's Singers
The St Andrew's Players

9. Community Food Bank -  Boxes for your donations are in the church room foyer, and lists of what is needed are on display. There is a particular need (and a week on week requirement) for tinned potatoes and coffee. There are very few of the former and none of the latter in the warehouse at the moment. On the other hand it is particularly requested that pasta, tea and biscuits are NOT donated for the time being as there are mountains of each of these!
